Crews from at least eight towns battled a house fire on the Lankinds Road in Etna late Monday night.
According to Etna Fire Chief Walter Gibbons, flames were already shooting through the second story roof when the first crews arrived.
No one was home at the time: a passerby called in the fire.
The house was destroyed in the flames. The fire marshal’s office was on the scene Tuesday morning to try and determine a cause.
