Kyle Passes Maine

There was plenty of rain and wind, which caused some power outages and road closures, due to flooding.

Bangor Hydro says some customers in Washington and Hancock Counties lost electricity during the storm. The company says that by 4 o’clock Monday morning, everyone was back on line.

The Washington County Emergency Management Agency in Machias closed up shop Sunday night, after characterizing Kyle as a run-of-the-mill storm.

A spokesperson said the potential for serious problems vanished when the storm shifted to the east, and moved toward the Canadian Maritimes.

Ironically, Monday marks the fifth anniversary of hurricane Juan.

The category two storm killed two people in the Maritimes and caused an estimated $100,000,000 in damages.
