Police say they could be responsible for a string of burglaries in that area.
19-year-old Paul Biester of New Jersey and 22-year-old Matthew Davidson were in Somerset County District Court facing multiple charges including burglary, theft and eluding an officer.
A judge did not ask for a plea from either today, because the two have pending felony charges that they will have to answer to first.
Fairfield police got a report of a burglary on Somerset Ave., just off of Rt. 201 Friday afternoon.
When they arrived, they found a blue car speeding across some lawns.
Biester was driving that car at the time, and crashed into a ditch.
The two men jumped out of the vehicle and ran from police.
Biester was found a short time later, Davidson turned himself in later that night.
Both remain in jail on $10,000 bail and are expected in superior court in November.
