After three years of planning, the Lamoine veterans memorial was unveiled to the public Saturday.
Local World War II veteran Delmont Merrill was the keynote speaker at the dedication ceremony.
Back in 2004, residents formed a committee to raise money for and design the memorial, which sits near the town hall.
Construction began in early summer, and the final bricks were put in place just days ago.
The project cost $27,000.
Most of that was raised through donations and the selling of commemorative bricks.
