Police say a car with three adults and the infant was traveling along the Bubar Rd. around 1:00 a.m. when the driver lost control. The car left the road and struck some trees.
The baby boy was ejected from the car and suffered head injuries, he was taken by helicopter to EMMC in Bangor. Police are still trying to determine if the infant was in a car seat.
The driver of car, 34-year-old Tracey Hicks, was taken to a local hospital, then transferred to EMMC with broken bones. The other two passengers were not hurt.
Police are not releasing their identities or the name of the baby.
The Somerset county sheriff’s department says the accident is still under investigation, and the district attorney’s office is also reviewing the case.
