Pam McLain says national forensic experts will be in Maine later this week to examine her daughter, Joyce McLain’s remains.
McLain says Joyce’s body will be exhumed from a Medway cemetery Thursday morning. It will be taken to the Maine state crime lab in Augusta where Dr. Michael Baden and Dr. Henry Lee will perform the second autopsy.
Joyce McLain was 16-years-old when her body was found near a soccer field in 1980. The initial autopsy revealed she died of blunt force trauma.
No arrests were ever made.
