Alert Portland landlord found not guilty of manslaughter

Motorcycle Crash

A man was attempting to pass another vehicle on the Waterville Road when the bike’s brakes suddenly locked up, sending it out of control. The bike flew 50 to 75 feet before bursting into flames, the driver landed in the opposite lane.

The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Paul Daigle of Anson.

He’s listed in serious condition at a Bangor hospital as of Wednesday morning, having suffered a serious head injury.

A state police reconstruction team is now trying to determine if a mechanical malfunction caused Daigle’s wheel to lock up.
