According to the Office of Energy Independence and Security’s biweekly survey, the statewide average cash price on Monday was $4.00 a gallon. That’s down 42 cents from two weeks ago and 71 cents from the peak on July 7.
Southwest Maine has the lowest average price at $3.83 a gallon. Eastern Maine has the highest price at $4.13 a gallon.
Kerosene was averaging $4.58 a gallon statewide, which is 33 cents cheaper than it was two weeks ago.
