A Dover-Foxcroft man is suing Mayo Regional Hospital claiming the hospital didn’t give him proper medical attention when he went there with chest pains.
Robert Olszewski is seeking unspecified damages in the federal complaint against the Dover-Foxcroft hospital, its CEO and a physician’s assistant.
Olszewski claims he went to the hospital’s emergency room twice on Aug. 6, 2007, with chest pains, a headache and a fever.
Attorney Michael Waxman said his client’s vital signs were taken, but no real medical screening was provided.
According to the lawsuit, Olszewski then went to a Bangor hospital where he was admitted with a mild heart attack.
A hospital spokesman said the hospital does not comment on pending lawsuits.
