MAINE HOCKEY HAS LOST ONE ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH AND ANOTHER ASSISTANT MAY ALSO CUT TIES WITH THE PROGRAM. UMAINE HAS CONFIRMED THAT ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH, RECRUITING COORDINATOR GUY PERRON HAS RESIGNED…..

PERRON IS DONE. HIS PRIMARY JOB RECRUITING… PRIOR TO HIS TWO YEAR STINT WITH THE MEN, PERRON COACHED THE WOMEN’S PROGRAM FOR TWO YEARS. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD PERRON DOES NOT HAVE ANOTHER HOCKEY JOB LINED UP. PERRON ALSO PLAYED FOR THE UNIVERSITY, A CAPTAIN ON THE 88-89 TEAM, A CAREER 136 GAMES, SCORING 62 GOALS AND 84 ASSISTS.

NOW WE ALSO MENTIONED AN ASSISTANT MAY BE GETTING DONE, BUT WE ALL KNOW GRANT STANBROOK IS MORE THAN AN ASSISTANT. STANBROOK IS STRONGLY CONSIDERING NOT JOINING THE TEAM THIS FALL. STANDBROOK HAS BEEN WITH THE PROGRAM FOR 20 YEARS, THE LAST TWO AS A VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT…. CONCENTRATING HIS EFFORTS ON COACHING GOALIES. WE WILL LET YOU KNOW OF HIS DECISION IN THE COMING WEEKS.
