A man from Plymouth has dead following a crash on the Interstate in Orono.
It happened just after 4pm Sunday, just north of the Kelly Road exit.
State police say 50-year-old Lawrence Smith was at the wheel of a GMC pickup truck when it started raining heavily.
The truck hydroplaned and Smith lost control. It then spun, and smashed into a rock ledge backwards.
Smith was ejected from the vehicle and landed in the median. The truck then rolled on top of him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
His passenger, 57 year old Mark Lane of Newburgh, was taken to EMMC with a skull fracture and a broken arm.
Troopers do not believe his injuries are life threatening. They say Lane was buckled in during the crash.
No other vehicles were involved.
