The reticulated python somehow got into Mara Ranger’s 1800s-era farmhouse and made its way into the machine. That’s where Ranger found it yesterday. While reaching into the machine, she felt something move around and saw the snake poke its head out.
Richard Burton, who operates Maine Animal Damage Control in Lewiston, said he could barely believe his eyes when he arrived.
He reached into the machine expecting to come out with a four-foot snake. But when he pulled, the serpent kept coming and coming… all eight feet of it. Burton guessed that the snake was somebody’s pet, and that the owner ended up tossing it into the wild when it got too big.
