6-year-old Dante Parks was honored at Monday night’s Bangor city council meeting with a proclamation.
Young Mr. Parks is being recognized for his ability to stay calm under pressure. When Dante’s mother needed help, and was unable to call for it herself, her son leapt into action, and did it for her..
":I called 911.": Dante said at Monday’s meeting, saying he learned how to dial 911 at school.
When asked if he was scared, the young hero admitted ":Yes.":
Also honored at Monday night’s council meeting was the dispatcher who talked Dante through the ordeal, Ryan Welch.
Welch was honored for making sure the young boy kept calm until help arrived.
