Maine Police Play Key Role in Child Porn Bust

Updated 6 years ago

A key to finding the suspect was information found by the internet crimes against children unit of the Maine state police. 38-year-old James Bartholomew Huskey of Lafayette, Georgia was arrested Monday at his home after a two year investigation that began in Australia.

Court documents show Huskey is accused of repeatedly raping a young girl from the time she was five years old to when she was nine, video-taping the acts and uploading the videos on the web to a suspected child pornography ring.

The F-B-I called upon Maine agents on May 23rd to help in the investigation. The team was given a number of photos and movies to go through to try to pinpoint a suspect and find the young girl. Sgt. Glenn Lang of the Maine State Police said &quot:the sexual abuse was absolutely brutal in this case and it was starting to get into physical abuse on top of sexual abuse where the last series the suspect was holding a knife to the throat of a child.&quot:

A forensic analyst was vital to the case. She was able to use details in the pictures and videos to link Huskey to the crimes. Maine investigators will continue to assist the F-B-I with Huskey’s prosecution.
