Police Standoff in New Gloucester

Updated 7 years ago

Initial reports indicate that what sounds like a domestic dispute brought a State Tactical Team out to New Gloucester late Monday night, and the officers were on hand to watch the sunrise Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the home at 57 Durma Dr. in New Gloucester at around 11:30 Monday night.

A State Tactical Team was called in when authorities suspected that 47-year-old Dennis Voter might have a firearm.

Officers were engaged in the standoff for nearly 7 hours, the standoff coming to an end at nearly 6 o’clock Tuesday morning.

In the end, Voter was arrested and taken in to custody, and is currently being held at the Cumberland County Jail.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
