It prevented a fire from being worse than it was.
The Clark residence on the Berry Pit Road caught fire.
It happened around nine Monday morning.
No one was home. Firefighters rescued a cat and a dog, another cat is missing.
While the house is still standing, there’s a lot of damage inside.
A firefighter discovered the fire. One of the lieutenants on the fire department was out running errands, and saw a haze in the area. Upon his investigation, he saw heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the home.
Investigators are searching for cause.
Hudson firefighters were assisted at the scene by crews from Bradford, Corinth, Glenburn and Kenduskeag.
