Dexter Fire Decimates Barn

The call to Zions Hill Road came in around 7 am. When firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting out to the rear of the house.

Crews from Dover-Foxcroft, Corinna, and Sangerville quickly put out the blaze.

Dexter’s fire chief says heat and additions to the home complicated things:

&quot:A lot of the trouble was from the slate roof that held the fire into the house.&quot: Chief Barry Deering told TV5 Wednesday. &quot:The majority of the damage is in the barn and one end of the house.&quot:

The owners were not home when the fire broke out.

The fire marshal’s office is investigating.
