A relative says a father and daughter stabbed in a home invasion in Pittston are continuing to recover at separate hospitals.
Lester Dickey of Gardiner says the father, 48-year-old William Guerrette, may be taken out of a drug-induced coma this weekend at a hospital in Lewiston.
He says the daughter, 10-year-old Nicole, has regained consciousness and has spoken.
He says family members hope the father can recover enough to be transferred so both will be treated at the same Portland hospital.
An 18-year-old man charged in the brutal attack on May 27 remains jailed on $1 million bail. Police are mum on the investigation.
