Red Shield Shutdown

Dan Bird of Red Shield says the cost of wood is the cause of the shutdown, as plant officials work to tighten the wood supply inventory back up over the next week or so.

Bird says a shutdown of this fashion is pretty typical this time of year.

Employees will be staggered out of work slowly overa few days, as it takes nearly a day and half to get the plant shut down completely.

Bird says the plan now is to re-start the plant as early as Monday, and employees would come back to work slowly, with full operations hopefully by Thursday.
