A dump truck hit the Hogan Road overpass and went out of control.
It happened in the northbound lane at around seven am Monday.
The driver was working for Roof Systems of Maine, when suddenly the truck’s body raised up.
":The dump body on the truck has rose and it struck the overpass to the Hogan Road, ripped it off the truck and then the truck rolled over, pinning the driver inside.": Said State Police Trooper Philip Pushard. ":Bangor Fire had to cut the gentleman out, and he has now been transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center.":
We’re told the driver was alert and talking to rescue workers when he was put in the ambulance.
Bridge engineers from the Department of Transportation were called in to inspect the damage to the overpass.
