Folks in the community have criticized the Bangor Rescue Mission for allowing several sex offenders to stay at the facility on the Meadow Road at the same time.
Peter Webb took over as executive director of the mission ten months ago. He decided to make the change to the policy:
":I felt that long term it was going to affect our ability to reach the community effectively, that’s really the reason I made it.":
Webb says the last offender moved out of the facility five months ago.
The home is still open to men convicted of other crimes, and to recovering addicts.
