27-year-old Daniel Watson is charged with O.U.I., operating after suspension, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Bangor police tell us that Watson drove his Jeep into a ditch at around 5 o’clock Tuesday afternoon.
According to witnesses, Watson then tried to jump into a bystander’s car. When the driver wouldn’t let him in, he took off on foot.
Watson was arrested a few minutes later.
Lt. Steve Hunt says that incidents like this happen all too often.
":Unfortunately, we have too many people driving under suspension, without licenses, and it’s something we take seriously, and crackdown.":
Watson was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
