It happened near camp Molly Molasses, which is used by Girl Scouts and other young campers.
An air patrol for the Maine Forest Service spotted smoke just after two o’clock Monday afternoon.
The camp is currently vacant.
Rangers say it appears the fire started in a pile of debris.
Fire crews from Bradley and Eddington were called in to fight the flames.
They were able to keep the fire from jumping across the road and reaching any buildings.
Rangers tell TV 5 that the door to one of the camp buildings was open.
They’re now investigating whether someone started the fire.
