The Cumberland County Regional Communications Center experienced several interruptions with its 911 emergency system recently.
In response, Fairpoint has installed new equipment, reconfigured its software and revised its notification procedures in the event of a service outage.
FairPoint determined that the cause of the 911 outages was a computer software configuration. Officials say the problem has now been fixed.
In March, FairPoint completed a $2.3 billion purchase of Verizon Communications’ wired telephone lines and high-speed Internet service in northern New England.
