LURC Recommendations

Changes include removing development from the north shore of long pond, but opponents of the project say they still have concerns.

Natural Resources Council of Maine executive director Brownie Carson says there is no reduction in the amount of development, which is still the equivalent of two or three new towns in the region, and development still threatens Lily Bay.

Plum Creek’s proposal to developthe areaaround Moosehead lake has been in the works for more thanthree years.

The LURC commission will be holding deliberating sessions that the public is welcome to attend.

They will start Tuesday, May 27th at 9:30 a.m. at the Saint Paul Center in Augusta.
