Lobster Boat Mischief

18-year old Kenneth Chandler was arrested in connection with a lobster boat that was found circling off Jonesport Monday morning.

The 31-footer called the &quot:Lisa Marie&quot: was going in circles with no one on board.

It had collided with other boats that were at anchor. It also hit a float and a dock and caused a skiff to sink.

Officials managed to climb aboard and cut the engine, but not before it caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.

The skipper of the boat, Larry Crowley, was still at home in bed, so officials were worried that someone took it for a joyride and had fallen overboard.

That sparked a massive search by the coast guard and others.

Jay Caroll, with the marine patrol told TV-5 that Keneth Chandler was arrested and charged with aggravated criminal mischief.

At last report, he was being held at the Washington County Jail without bail.

The owner of the Lisa Marie expects his boat will be out of commission for about six weeks.
