Graduation Drinking 

A lot of Colby college students needed medical treatment for intoxication over the weekend.

Two area hospitals were busy treating17 students that were brought in by ambulance. All of them over 21.

Still Colby College spokesman Steve Collins says it is a concern. Each year a celebration with a champagne toast is held on the steps of the campus library.Hundreds showed up for the annual tradition on Friday.

According to Collins seniors had to register and sign a behavior statement in advance.

There will be consequences for those who did not abide by it. Chief Joseph Massey says nobody was arrested at the event.

Waterville police summoned7 more Colby College students after they were called to an apartment complex Saturday night where they found underage drinking taking place.
