The call came in at around 6:20 pm alerting firefighters that flames had erupted inside a home on the Bryant Road in Unity while the owners were away.
Crews from four departments battled the fire, but despite their best efforts, we’re told the home is badly damaged.
A family dog also died in the fire.
The home belongs to Derrick Wilson and Charlene Grotton.
They say ":everything was turned off,": so they have no idea what started the blaze.
The fire marshal’s office has been called in.
We’re told that the family does have insurance.
They’ll be staying with family members for now.
