The roads in and around Acadia National park are looking a lot spiffier…thanks to the work of hundreds of volunteers.
The ninth annual ":Friends of Acadia": Roadside Earth Day Cleanup kicked off Saturday.
Close to 400 people turned out to help pick up the trash that’s accumulated alongside the roads in the MDI, Trenton and Schoodic areas.
Last year, volunteers collected more than nine tons of trash!
Organizers say they’re thrilled that so many people care about keeping their community clean.
