Lincoln Plane Crash

It happened at the Lincoln Regional Airport, just before four o’clock Sunday afternoon.

Lincoln police chief Bill Flagg says two men were attempting to take off in a private, two-seater plane when the pilot lost control.

The plane slid off the runway, crashed into a snowbank, and flipped onto its roof.

When rescue crews arrived they found the pilot, 51-year-old Galen Kimball of East Millinocket. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

His passenger is identified as 54-year-old Geral Millett of Lowell, who is the owner of the plane.

Millett was not injured in the crash.

Officials from the FAA will be on scene Monday to investigate.
