And now the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office needs your help to find the thief.
They say the crime took place some time between March 21st and March 29th.
The homeowners were away on vacation at the time.
On Wednesday authorities say a man took some of the stolen jewelry to Cash X-Press a pawn shop on Harlow Street in Bangor.
But the clerk already had a list of the jewelry stolen from the home in Glenburn recognized it. When he questioned the man about it he ran leaving the jewelry behind.
According to Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office Detective Robert Jordan, ":The victims have estimated that the approximate worth of jewelry taken was 127-thousand dollars and what we can determine right now between 17-18-thousand dollars if it was left at this business.":
Authorities say the man had a two or three year old child with him when he tried to sell the jewelry. They walked into the Cash X-Press store around 2:15 on Wednesday.
Deputies hope someone who spotted them can provide some information that will lead them to the suspect.
He’s described as a white male, in his early thirties, with red hair, about six feet tall, weighing between 190 to 200 pounds.
