Local Woman attends Oscars

BANGOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER TORI KORNFIELD WAS A GUEST OF HER BROTHER AT THE 80-TH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS HELD A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AT THE KODAK THEATER IN LOS ANGELES.

&quot: I didn’t think I was star struck. But as soon as you get there, you’re just bedazzled.&quot:

62-YEAR OLD TORI KORNFIELD SAYS SHE ISN’T A BIG MOVIE BUFF… AND SHE DOESN’T KNOW THE NAMES OF MANY ACTORS… BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN SHE WOULD TURN DOWN A ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OPPORTUNITY.

YES, THAT’S KORNFIELD IN THE TAUPE AND BLACK DRESS BEHIND JOHN TRAVLOTA AND KELLY PRESTON ON THE RED CARPET OF THE 80-TH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS.

&quot: I’m shameless. It’s a terrible thing to say, but I wanted evidence I was there.&quot:

KORNFIELD, WHO’S BROTHER WORKS FOR PIXAR, THE COMPUTER ANIMATION COMPANY, SAYS PEOPLE WEREN’T ALLOWED TO BRING CAMERAS AND CELL PHONES INSIDE THE KODAK THEATER… BUT SHE WAS LUCKY… THE CAMERAS FOUND HER… SO DID ACTOR GEORGE CLOONEY.

&quot: He crossed right over to the star section where I was to shake hands with people in the peanut gallery who were overlooking the red carpet. Those people didn’t have tickets to go in, but they slept outside all night just to see the stars. He crossed over to shake hands with all of them and when he crossed back over he came right in front of me and I said ‘George Clooney’ and he said ‘Hi, how are you&quot:

SHE SAYS THERE WERE ABOUT THREE HUNDRED PAPARAZZI SCRAMBLING FOR THE PERFECT SHOT… THIS MUST HAVE BEEN ONE… BECAUSE SHE AND MILEY CYRUS MADE THE NEW YORK TIMES.

ONCE INSIDE… THE FUN CONTINUED… KORNFIELD SAYS IT WAS INTERESTING TO WATCH THE PRODUCTION COME TOGETHER.

&quot: I went there thinking it was a self-congratulating event, but I don’t know, you go there and it’s like you enter a forbidden world.&quot:

A WORLD THAT’S LEFT HER AMAZED.
