The call came in around 9 p.m. Friday night. At that point heavy smoke was coming from a chimney from a home on Rt.15.
It sounded like a chimney fire, but by the time fire crews arrived at the scene, smoke was seen coming from the eves. Afew moments after that, flames were shooting up the side of the building and were spreading quickly.
Fire crews from Bangor and Levant were among those who were called in to help.
People do live in the home, but they were away when the fire started.
Investigators will look for a cause of that fire.
The fire was just one of the challenges for fire crews.
They also had to deal with very cold temperatures that make their job that much more difficult.
