Woman Drives Drunk To Avoid Rape

A Hallowell woman who says she drove drunk to avoid being raped has been acquitted of drunk driving charges.

Anna Rocchi admits she was drunk and passed out before she awoke to find a man assaulting her in her car at the Windsor fairgrounds.

She says she managed to push the man out of her car before driving to a nearby home for help.

District Attorney Evert Fowle says jurors didn’t know about her driving record, which includes three OUI’s.
