It began as a heavy dose of snow and then got really messy when it turned to rain. There were numerous accidents on the slushy roads.
The storm also caused a lot of flooding, because, as the ground was frozen and covered with snow, the rain simply didn’t have a place to go.
The flooding posed yet another problem for drivers already facing snow and ice, suddenly big puddles dotted the roadway, making it hard to maintain control.
Power outages are also a big concern.
CMP has been dealing with more than 73-thousand outages, mostly from the Augusta area south.
Bangor Hydro had about three-thousand outages at the height of the blow, but most of their customers are now back on line.
