Verona Fatal Accident

It’s still not known why a car crossed into oncoming traffic on the Verona-Bucksport bridge lateMonday night.
A winterport man was killed.
State police are investigating the wreck, one of many in the last few days.
They say a car driven by 52-year-old Thomas Johnson crossed the center line in the middle of the bridge around 11:30 pm.
Johnson slammed head-on into a pick-up with a plow on it.He was thrown from his vehicle and died instantly.
The driver of the pick-up, 28-year-old Lance Sanborn of Verona Island, was flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, suffering from compound leg fractures.
Sanborn is a firefighter-paramedic and reserve police officer in Bucksport.
