The victim’s body was found in the rubble Monday morning. His name is being withheld until relatives can be notified.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office said the fire apparently took place Thursday night, but was discovered three days later when a plowtruck driverarrived at theresidence and found that the home had been destroyed.
The home was located at the end of a side road off of Route 1, about a half mile from its nearest neighbor.
Investigators said the home had no electricity, and a wood stove was its only source of heat. Because of the total destruction, officials say it’s unlikely that the cause of the fire will be determined.
