Cooks Convicted

David and Daniel Cook received their sentences on Wednesday.

David Cook will spend a year and a half behind bars after being convicted on forgery and other charges.

Daniel Cook received a two year sentence.

David Cook is the former town clerk for Otis, and several people who know him sent letters telling the judge there was no way he could be capable of carrying out the crimes. The prosecutor disagreed, saying that’s exactly what he did.

The Cooks maintain their innocence, saying it was actually a house guest who carried out the crimes.

That person, Christopher Lapointe has already pled guilty to his role in the crimes and testified against the Cooks during their trial.
