Christopher Fillyaw turned himself in to police Monday morning.
Police say he confessed to breaking into the Waterville Savings Bank on Upper Main Street.
That crime happened last Wednesday night.
Fillyaw saw his face in a local newspaper, after authorities released surveillance video from the bank.
Nobody was working at the time of the burglary.
When employees showed up on Thursday morning, they found that the door had been forced open.
Police say the vault hadn’t been touched, but some coins were taken from the bank.
Between $500 and $1,000 worth of coins have been recovered.
Fillyaw is being held at the Kennebec County Jail, and faces a felony charge of burglary.
