The Maine Warden Service is investigating
a hit-and-run snowmobile accident that seriously injured a Limerick
man Friday night as he walked his dog behind his home.
Officials say 42-year-old Darren Smith suffered two broken legs,
a broken arm and other injuries when he was struck by a snowmobile
at about 9:30 behind his residence on the Limerick Air Field
Sgt. Tim Spahr said the snowmobiler took off, and that the scene
has since been covered by snowfall.
Smith was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
