It’s snowing over nearly all of Maine, and we could soon see sleet and freezing rain in many areas…
The storm that’s worked its way from the Midwest is expected to bring 12 to 18 inches of snow to western Maine’s mountains, a bonanza for the ski areas. A swath across the interior could get 6 to 8 inches, and coastal regions are looking at 4 to 8 inches.
But forecasters say sleet and freezing rain could diminish those totals.
Another factor in the storm is wind, which is going to be gusting upward of 45 miles per hour along the coast.
While the highways are generally quiet, Maine State Police report a few cars off the turnpike.
