27-year-old Benjamin Oakes was arrested Friday night.
Police say he assaulted a woman walking her dog on a nature trail near the college’s entrance on Thursday morning.
This is the third attack on women near the campus since October.
Waterville’s deputy police chief, Charles Rumsey, says tips from the public helped solve this case.
If convicted, Oakes could face up to a year in jail, and a hefty fine.
He’s expected to make his first court appearance some time this week.
