A man from Blue Hill, who’s charged in a shooting that happened last week, made his first court appearance Monday. Douglas Moore (46) is accused of elevated aggravated assault and criminal threatening with a firearm, among other charges. Police say Moore shot 51-year old Dean Curtis of Brooksville in the stomach and thigh. A third bullet grazed the man’s leg. Authorities say as many as five shots were fired.
DA Michael Povich said: ":There was some suggestion the victim might have been involved with the defendants wife and it started out at the defendants home and there was some verbal altercation which escalated to basically both people fighting with each other. Then the gun play ensued.":
Dean Curtis is still at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
