Authorities say a 78-year-old man’s body was found by a hunter three-days after he was last seen, ending a
search by game wardens, Piscataquis County sheriff’s deputies and
Lieutenant Pat Dorian of the Maine Warden Service says the body
of William Haskell of Guilford was found Saturday afternoon in a
thickly wooded area about 300 yards from his pickup truck, which
had become stuck on a woods trail. Dorian says Haskell had locked
the truck and walked away.
Dorian says Haskell was last seen Wednesday and was reported
missing the next day. Searchers used a plane and helicopter in an
attempt to locate Haskell.
