A Maine-based ice cream maker is recalling some
of its product because it contains unlabeled eggs that might harm
people with egg allergies.
The affected ice cream was sold in Massachusetts, Maine and New
Shain’s of Maine says its Kahlua Brownie ice cream in one-quart
and 3-gallon containers and Double Fudge Brownie ice cream in
3-gallon tubs is being recalled.
No illnesses have been reported.
The company discovered that the brownies in the ice cream were
made with a mix that contained eggs, but the ice cream containers
do not indicate the egg content.
Consumers can return the ice cream to the place where they
bought it for a refund.
