Man Sentenced for Smuggling 

A 37-year-old Canadian man has been

sentenced to more than four years in prison for smuggling Oxycontin

into Maine.

Jamie Kitchen of New Brunswick was sentenced in federal

court in Bangor to 50 months in prison followed by three years of

supervised release.

According to court documents, Kitchen was the source of supply

for Oxycontin pills that were smuggled into Washington County from

December 2003 and October 2004.

Kitchen was arrested last February as he attempted to enter the

U.S. in Calais.
