After several months of investigation, State Police believe the driver of the van, 23-year old camp counselor Yehoshua Hoffman, fell asleep at the wheel.
The van was carrying over a dozen boys between the ages of 14 and 18 years old. They had been driving through the night from Camp Seven Springs in Bethel, New York, headed for an outdoor expedition in northern Maine.
According to state police Lt. Wesley Hussey, all the passengers were asleep when the van skidded across the interstate and rolled over.
Gedalia Rosenblatt (15) was killed and a dozen other boys were injured during the crash.
