One of the two young men charged in the shooting death of a Franco-American entertainer in Augusta is free on bail. Corey Swift (18) was set free after relatives put more than 250-thousand dollars worth of property on the line to secure his release.
Swift is charged with felony murder and had been in jail since April 24th. That’s the day 62-year-old Jean-Paul Poulain was shot in his apartment. Poulain died on the way to the hospital.
Mathew Loisel (21) claims he shot Poulain because the older man had taken advantage of him sexually. Loisel is being held at a mental health hospital in Augusta.
