An accident on busy route one has claimed the life of a Hancock woman. The three vehicle crash happened while drivers were making their morning commute to work Tuesday.
Police say 40-year-old Wendy Brown had stopped to turn into Hancock Grocery. Rosamond McLean of Sullivan was heading south toward Ellsworth when she struck the back end of Brown’s Ford Expedition.
Police say the impact drove the expedition into the path of an oncoming box truck loaded with lobsters.
Police say Brown was killed instantly. Rosamond McLean who was driving the other car was taken to a local hospital with back and hip injuries.
She was later transferred to EMMC in Bangor. The driver of the truck was checked out and released.
