The Director of the Transportation Security Administration is spending time in Bangor this week.
Edmund ":Kip": Hawley is in the area to support a new law, passed earlier this month.
The ":See Something, Say Something": provision was drafted by Senator Susan Collins and Senator Joe Leiberman of Connecticut.
The law prevents citizens who report suspicious activity, in good faith to the proper authorities, from being sued.
Hawley says he hopes this will encourage thoughtful citizens to help in the fight against terrorism.
The new law does not protect individuals who knowingly make false statements.
